Art's Man-Crush On Steve Greenhut

Let's just say it: Art Pedroza's man-crush on OCR editorial writer Steve Greenhut is getting creepy.

Art was at it again yesterday, attacking a Red County blogger Christian Milord for disagreeing with Greenhut's claim of an un-fixable breach between libertarians and the GOP.

Milord's column in the OCR Commentary section yesterday was very positive and polite.But Art cannot abide any criticism, no matter how restrained, against the object of his affections. So, being the great thinker he is, Art called Milord "witless" and made fun of his sideburns. Way to use that cabeza, Artie.

Here's some samples of Art's fawning over Greenhut:

"Greenhut was absolutely right about that!"

"Listen Milord, your Red County publisher, Chip Hanlon, picked this fight with Greenhut! Hanlon attacked Greenhut for being anti-war. Hanlon did not stop there. He also attacked and defamed Ron Paul, the popular Libertarian-leaning Republican Congressman who ran for President last year. This was a battle that Hanlon could not win." No one can defeat by close personal friend (at least, i hope he is) Steve!

"Greenhut is right to question that waste of money - and to question U.S. militarization in general."

"Can you blame Greenhut for responding in kind after Hanlon ripped Libertarians for supposedly being fanatics? All Greenhut did was prove that there are just as many nutty Republicans."

This is obviously a cry for help from Art: "Steve! Please let me be you sidekick! Please let me be your mascot! You're the greatest, Steve! The greatest! Please stay my friend! PLEASE!!!!!"

How much longer will Art's embarrassing sycophancy goe on? The only possible way to break it would be if Greenhut wrote that something about negative about Latinos. If there's anything Art cherishes more than being pals with Steve, it is his grandiose delusion of being La Voz de la Raza and "the voice of the unrepresented."

The comments are a "Type B" OJ comment thread: an Art Pedroza/David Zenger circle jerk about how clever and superior they are.

Does Art Pedroza Have A Job?

That very question has crossed the minds of more than one OC politico. OC's nastiest political blogger has all kinds of time on his hands to publish distortions, lies and personal attacks on his constantly evolving list of self-made enemies. When does he have time to work?

Supposedly, Art is now runs his own safety consulting firm, Pedroza and Associates. Though why anyone would hire him after reading just a few of his ravings is beyond me. His posts don't exactly scream "stable" or "professional."

Art started his consulting firm in November 2008, as the financial crisis was in full-blown melt-down mode. At the time, Art worked for American Technologies, Inc. (according to his Linked In profile) as a "safety director." When Art was still a member of the OC GOP Central Committee, he could be heard talking about how he was making more than $100,000.

Art explained his departure from American Technologies by claiming they were asking him to to do unethical things like fudge reports, and he, being the tower of integrity he is, refused and quit.

The same guy who publishes unverified rumors and plain-old lies on an almost daily basis refuses to do the same thing at work to save his high-paying job in the middle of a deep recession? Suuurre.

Ask yourself: why would someone quit his $100K-plus job to start a consulting biz in the middle off the worst financial crisis in 50 years? Answer: he wouldn't do it voluntarily.

It's quite obvious from the time-stamps on Art's posts that he was blogging on American Technologies dime. Draw your own conclusion.

So does Art have a job? He used to claim on his LinkedIn profile that he had 100-500 employees! After another blogger kept calling him on it, he finally fixed that "error." Maybe his equally unstable buddy, developer Tony Bushala, is doling out "consulting gigs" to Art to keep him afloat. That might explain Art's constant online sucking up to Bushala.

Is There A Bigger Hypocrite Than Art Pedroza?

If you looked up "hypocrite" in the dictionary, don't be surprised if you see Art Pedroza's picture next to the definition.

As you can see in his comments on these two OJ posts (aqui y aqui), Art threw a hissy fit about the Orange Juice Watch Diary asking the question on everyone's minds: does Art have a job?

Whines Art:

"And now his blog has an entire diary devoted to attacking not our politics but rather our personal lives."

"What a bunch of sniveling red cowards."

You can't help wondering: is Art such a complete sociopath that he really doesn't see that he routinely does to other people precisely what he's complaining was done to him? Or is he a total, unashamed hypocrite and doesn't care how obvious it is?

It would be funny if it weren't so sad. As readers know, attacking people's personal lives is Art's stock in trade. Here's an Art Pedroza post from last July about Paul Lucas, publishing an anonymous personal attack on Paul and ridiculing him for working at Costco.

Former OC Register editorial writer John Seiler, languishing in obscurity, rides to Art's defense in an OJ post today. Funny how John remains silent every time Art commits the same sin John blasts in his post.

Someone has to keep an eye on the biggest liar in the Orange County blogosphere. It's like being a garbage collector: it's an ugly, smelly job, but someone has to do it. Or else the crap just keeps piling up.
